Must Be Holy in All Our Conduct Why was Paul so forceful, so direct? He was reflecting Jehovah’s love and concern for those Christians who were trying to survive on spiritual milk. (Heb. 5:12) Knowing the fundamental doctrines of Christianity is vital. However, “solid food” is needed to promote spiritual growth toward Christian maturity. Instead of progressing to the point of teaching others, the Hebrews needed to have someone teach them. Why? Because they avoided “solid food.” Ask yourself: ‘Do I have the right attitude toward solid spiritual food? Am I taking it in? Or do I shy away from praying and engaging in deep Bible study? If so, might my study habits be part of the problem?’ Not only are we to preach to people but we are to teach them and make disciples. (Matt. 28:19, 20) Whether we have been dedicated servants of God for years or for a comparatively short time, we should continually take in solid spiritual food. w14 11/15 3:15-17

Seamos santos en todo aspecto de
la vida ¿Por qué fue Pablo tan directo? Porque, al igual que Jehová, amaba a aquellos cristianos y le preocupaba que estuvieran tratando de sobrevivir a base de “leche”, o de un conocimiento superficial de las Escrituras (Heb. 5:12). Aunque era importante que conocieran las doctrinas y enseñanzas básicas, si querían convertirse en cristianos maduros debían ingerir “alimento sólido”, es decir, profundizar en su estudio. En vez de haberse convertido en maestros, seguían necesitando que alguien les enseñara. ¿La razón? No se habían nutrido con “alimento sólido”. ¿Y nosotros? ¿Cómo vemos las verdades profundas? ¿Nos esforzamos por entenderlas? ¿Dedicamos tiempo a orar y a estudiar la Biblia en profundidad? Si nos cuesta, ¿será porque nos hemos acostumbrado a estudiar solo por encima? Recordemos que nuestra labor no es únicamente predicar, sino enseñar y hacer discípulos (Mat. 28:19, 20). Sin importar el tiempo que llevemos en la verdad, todos debemos nutrirnos con alimento espiritual sólido. w14 15/11 3:15-17 |
