4-27. air.
[X is some air.] = You cannot see X, but when some of it moves, you can feel it touching you. When much of it moves, it can cause other things that it touches to move. You can move through places that contain much of this, because it is not difficult to move through, and you can feel some of this touching you, but you do not feel this much or think about this much. All people cause X to move into and out of their bodies many times, because if a person does not do this for a short time, this person will die.
[People need air to live.]
4-28. breathe, breathes, to breathe, breathing, breathed.
[X breathes.] = X moves some air into its body, and then it moves this air out of its body. People and many kinds of animals need to do this many times, because if they do not do this for some time, they will die.
[I know this animal is alive, because I can see it breathing.]
4-29. eat, eats, to eat, eating, ate, eaten.
[J eats K.] = J is a person or an animal. K is something that was part of some other living thing before. J causes K to move into its body. People and animals need to do this many times, because if they do not do this for a long time, they will die.
[Some animals eat other animals.]
4-30. food.
[X is some food.] = X is something that people and animals eat.
[If I do not have some food to eat, I will die.]
