7. EL ADJETIVO INGLÉS ES INVARIABLE
Aprenda de memoria los adjetivos que siguen:
INGLÉS (PRONUNCIACIÓN) – TRADUCCIÓN AL ESPAÑOL
Sticky (stíki) – pegajoso, pegajosa, pegajosos, pegajosas
Yellow (yéloU) – amarillo, amarilla, amarillos, amarillas
Second (sécond) – segundo, segunda, segundos, segundas
Healthy (jélzi) – sano, sana, sanos, sanas
Ill – enfermo, enferma, enfermos, enfermas
Broken (bróUkEn) – roto/os, rota/as
Opposite (ópozit) – opuesto, opuesta, opuestos, opuestas
Serious (síries) – serio-a, serios-as
Straight (stréit) – recto, recta, rectos, rectas
Narrow ( náarroU) – estrecho, estrecha, estrechos, estrechas
Happy (jápi) – feliz, felices
Right (ráit) – derecho, derecha, derechos, derechas
Tired (taieRd) – cansado/a, cansados/as
¿Se dio cuenta? El adjetivo inglés no da complicaciones: NUNCA CAMBIA como sucede en español (en español los adjetivos cambian según sean femeninos, masculinos, plural y singular).
TO HAVE CON LA TERMINACIÓN “ED”
En inglés se usa muy a menuda el verbo “to have” con palabras que tienen la terminación “ed”.
Esto es sumamente sencillo de comprender, porque algo muy similar ocurre en español.
Estudiar los siguientes ejemplos pueden ser de ayuda para asimilar el uso de “to have” con palabras terminadas en “ed” (la pronunciación está entre paréntesis) :
Need (níid) – necesidad
Needed (níided) – necesitado
I have needed his help – yo he necesitado su ayuda
Clean (clíin) – limpio
Cleaned (clíinEd) – limpiado
I have cleaned my table – yo he limpiado mi mesa
Copy (cópi) – copia
Copied (cópid) – copiado
He has copied my letter – el ha copiado mi carta
Cry (crái) – grito, llanto
Cried (cráid) – gritado, llorado
Your baby has cried – su bebé ha llorado
Iron (áioRn) – plancha (hierro)
Ironed (áioRnEd) – planchado
She has ironed your shirt – ella ha planchado su camisa
Answer (áanseR) – contestación
Answered (áanseRed) – contestado
He has answered my letter – el ha contestado mi carta
Rain (réin) – lluvia
Rained (réinEd) – llovido
Rained (réinEd) – llovido
It has rained this morning – ha llovido esta mañana
Smoke (smóUk) – humo
