WHEN YOU CHANGE OVER the pattern of your thinking it means changing your way of life, yet the apostle Paul said that for Christians it is necessary to: [3] "Quit being fashioned after this system of things, but be transformed by making your mind over, that you may prove to yourselves the good and acceptable and complete will of God. "That is the battle that goes with finding the right religion. |
CAMBIAR DE MODO DE PENSAR implica cambiar de estilo de vida, y de hecho, el apóstol Pablo indicó lo que los cristianos debían hacer: [3] “Cesen de amoldarse a este sistema de cosas; más bien, transfórmense rehaciendo su mente, para que prueben para ustedes mismos lo que es la buena y la acepta y la perfecta voluntad de Dios.” Esa es la batalla que acompaña a la religión verdadera. |

It was this interest in solving the questions about God, interest in him as a personality who loves, thinks — even hates — that led to the understanding of God's will now being proclaimed world-wide by Jehovah's witnesses. Religions for centuries had been placing emphasis on man and his salvation or damnation, with little regard to the name of the God responsible for these destinies. All concepts of God were fashioned, not particularly from the Bible, but from man's interest in himself. |
Fue este interés en hallar respuestas a mis preguntas acerca de Dios, mi interés en él como una persona que ama, piensa y hasta odia, lo que condujo al entendimiento de su voluntad que hoy anuncian los testigos de Jehová por todo el mundo. Durante siglos las religiones han puesto todo el énfasis en el hombre y su salvación o condenación, preocupándose poco por el nombre del Dios responsable por esos destinos. Todos los conceptos de Dios se han modelado, no a partir de la Biblia, sino del interés del hombre en sí mismo. |

For centuries men had depended on the religious clergy to attend to the matter of salvation. If the layman concerned him-self with the Bible, it was viewed almost as heresy; he was a doubter. This made salvation dependent upon men. |
Durante siglos, la gente ha dependido del clero para alcanzar la salvación. Si un lego (el que sirve a la comunidad en trabajos caseros) se interesaba por las Escrituras se le consideraba prácticamente un hereje, tachándolo de incrédulo. De este modo, la salvación dependía de hombres. |

Eventually some rebelled. They wanted to show that men had nothing to do with the salvation of others. So they said Almighty God had fixed their destinies before he ever created one of the human family. Each man was predestined before birth to a heaven of bliss or a hell of fiery torment. |
De tanto en tanto, hubo algunos que se rebelaron. Querían demostrar que la salvación de un hombre para nada dependía de otros. De modo que afirmaron que el Dios Todopoderoso ya había fijado sus destinos antes de crear siquiera al primer humano. Cada hombre habría sido predestinado antes de nacer o disfrutar las dichas de la Gloria o sufrir los tormentos del infierno ardiente. |

Another reformer said, "This conception of God is my conception of the Devil. If a man is not saved it's his own fault, because God has made all arrangements for him to obtain salvation, but mankind will not accept it." This puts God in competition with the Devil and robs God of his power because it looks like the Devil is getting more converts. |
Otro reformador dijo: “Esta idea de Dios es mi concepto del Diablo. Si un hombre no se salva, es por su propia culpa, pues Dios ha hecho todo lo posible para que obtenga la salvación, pero la humanidad no quiere aceptarlo.” Esta creencia presenta a Dios en competencia con el Diablo, y lo despoja de su poder, pues parece que el Diablo está consiguiendo más discípulos. |

If we are to obtain the Scriptural perspective of God's way of salvation, then we must realize that a period of readjustment is necessary. Throughout this time of revaluation we will be faced with many mental and spiritual pitfalls. Some may seem small and insignificant, but to survive them we must completely subordinate our personal preferences. To rely on Jehovah's direction is the way of wisdom. [4] |
Si queremos averiguar lo que dicen las Escrituras sobre el método de salvación de Dios, hemos de darnos cuenta de que es preciso un período de reajuste. Durante este tiempo de reevaluación nos enfrentaremos a multitud de escollos mentales y espirituales. Algunos quizás parezcan pequeños e insignificantes, pero par a salvarlos debemos subordinar completamente nuestras preferencias personales. Someternos a la dirección de Jehová es el camino de la sabiduría. [4] |
