2. TIEMPO PASADO
Note LO FÁCIL que es aprender el pasado de los verbos básicos, debido a que no cambian con cada persona y número como sucede en español.
TO TAKE – TOMAR
El pasado de to take es “took” (se pronuncia túk), entonces:
I took – Yo tomé
You took – usted tomó
He took – el tomó
She took – ella tomó
It took – ello tomó
We took – nosotros tomamos
You took – ustedes tomaron
They took – ellos tomaron
¿Notó que “took” fue usado siempre igual por cada persona?
Continuando con los verbos básicos, a continuación damos la forma que adopta cada verbo en pasado (la cual se es igual para todas los pronombres, sin cambio!!!).
Es necesario aprenderlas de memoria:
TO SEND – ENVIAR
Pasado es: SENT (se pronuncia sént)
TO SAY – DECIR
Pasado es: SAID (se pronuncia séd)
TO MAKE – HACER
Pasado es: MADE (se pronuncia méid)
TO PUT – PONER
Pasado es: PUT (se pronuncia pút)
TO GET – CONSEGUIR
Pasado es: GOT (se pronuncia gót)
TO DO – HACER
Pasado es: DID (se pronuncia did)
TO SEEM – PARECER
Pasado es: SEEMED (se pronuncia síimEd)
TO GO – IR
Pasado es: WENT (se pronuncia uént)
TO GIVE – DAR
Pasado es: GAVE (se pronuncia guéiv)
TO SEE – VER
Pasado es SAW (se pronuncia sóo)
TO HAVE – HABER O TENER
Pasado es HAD (se pronuncia jád)
TO KEEP – MANTENER
Pasado es KEPT (se pronuncia képt)
TO COME – VENIR
Pasado es CAME (se pronuncia kéim)
TO LET – DEJAR
Pasado es LET (se escribe y pronuncia igual que el verbo original: “let”)
TO BE – SER O ESTAR
Aquí si cambia un poco el verbo según el pronombre personal:
I was (se pronuncia uós)
He was
She was
You were (singular)
You were (plural
We were
You were
They were

Como usted ya ha estudiado el tiempo presente y el tiempo pasado de los verbos básicos no tendrá dificultad en conocer el significado de las formas verbales que siguen:

He puts – el pone

We see – nosotros vemos
We saw – nosotros vimos
They take – ellos toman
They took – ellos tomaron
You make – usted hace
You made – usted hizo
You do – usted hace

she lets – yo dejo
she let – yo dejé
They let – ellos dejan
They let – ellos dejaron
He keeps – el mantiene
He kept – el mantuvo

they say – ellos dicen
they said – ellos dijeron
he gives – el da
he gave – el dio
you have – usted tiene
you had – el tuvo
